June 24 Session on Faculty, Including Academic Freedom
CU-UAW made counterproposals on (1) Discipline and Dismissal for Special Faculty, (2) Workspace and Materials for both faculty units, and (3) Intellectual Property for all faculty. The parties also discussed the academic freedom article.
Regular and Technical Faculty Bargaining Units Session: June 17
During the session with the faculty units, CalArts presented proposals on (1) Discipline and Dismissal for Special Faculty, (2) Intellectual Property, (3) Academic Freedom, and (4) Grievance and Arbitration and No Strike, No Lockout.
Staff Bargaining Unit Session: June 17
During the staff session, the parties signed tentative agreements on (1) Performance Review, (2) Vacation, and (3) Discipline and Dismissal.
Consolidated Bargaining Session: June 10
CU-UAW and CalArts met on June 10, 2026, for a consolidated bargaining session covering all employee units.
