CalArts and CU-UAW Discuss Separate Unit Bargaining at April 1 Session
CalArts and CU-UAW met on April 1, 2026, for an additional session of consolidated bargaining. The parties largely discussed the ground rules for separate unit bargaining, which is set to begin April 15, 2026.
Update and Status to Collective Bargaining Negotiations with CU-UAW
CalArts and CU-UAW began consolidated bargaining on Oct. 1, 2025, and since then have met for more than 15 sessions of bargaining, with each session scheduled for about three hours each. This meeting schedule was agreed to by both parties.
Consolidated Bargaining Continues, Ground Rules Prepared for the Three Separate Bargaining Units
CalArts provided counterproposals to CU-UAW’s proposals on Work Travel and Holidays, plus prepared ground rules for the three separate bargaining units. CU-UAW provided a counter to parking/transit, plus 15 additional articles specific to the separate units.
