The CalArts and CU-UAW bargaining teams met today for their third session of consolidated bargaining. The parties continued their discussion on the scope of the staff bargaining unit, which began over email.
The union then provided its updated proposals on Parking and Transit, Union Access, Union Security, and Labor-Management Committee. CalArts provided its counterproposals to the last union proposals on Job Postings and Health and Safety. The parties made good progress on all of these proposals.
The parties continued a brief discussion of CalArts’ proposal on Policies and Procedures provided at the October 15, 2025, bargaining session. No counterproposal has been submitted by the union yet.
The union introduced a new article for Orientation, which the parties also discussed.
The next bargaining session is in two weeks. We look forward to continuing our good-faith efforts to reach agreement with the union on each proposal in a timely manner.
